Woodridge school receives grant from local Mobil gas station education program

WOODRIDGE — Woodridge Elementary School District 68 has announced that Jefferson Junior High School was presented with an ExxonMobil Educational Alliance grant program from a local Mobil gas station.

The grant, in the amount of $500, was presented to the school by Johnson James of the Mobil gas station at 1940 75th Street in Woodridge.

The ExxonMobil Educational Alliance program is designed to enhance math and science programs across the United States and provide Exxon and Mobil retailers with an opportunity to invest in the future of their communities through educational grants to neighborhood schools.

ExxonMobil believes that, as members of the community, local retailers are best qualified to work with local educators to help identify schools and programs most in need of support, according to a press release announcing the grant.

The grant will be used at Jefferson toward math and science curriculums, officials said.
