Lisle Police Department announces St. Patrick’s Day crackdown results

Published: Friday, April 5, 2013 6:03 a.m. CDT

LISLE — The Lisle Police Department made three drunk-driving arrests and seven other significant arrests during the recent St. Patrick’s Day crackdown.

The Lisle Police Department joined forces with other state and local law enforcement and highway safety partners in the Illinois St. Patrick’s Day campaign. The campaign featured high-visibility enforcement combined with a variety of outreach activities, which included a strategic media campaign as well as additional enforcement activity.

Extra emphasis was given to late-night hours, as statistics show the highest number of motorists drink and drive and the fewest motorists buckle up during this time of day.

This law enforcement crackdown was funded by federal traffic safety grants through IDOT’s Division of Traffic Safety and is part of the statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” campaigns.
