LOMBARD — The outside lanes of St. Charles Road at the site of the Great Western Trail bridge project will be closed during the day, Thursday, as workers from "D" Construction complete work on the bridge spanning St. Charles Road.

During the morning, the westbound, outside lane will be closed and in the afternoon the eastbound, outside lane will be closed.

Both inside lanes will be open all day. Drivers are reminded to use extra caution when traveling through a construction zone.

The Great Western Trail bridge project is creating a network of three bridges to extend the trail across St. Charles Road, Grace Street and the Union Pacific railroad. Ground broke on the project last spring and is expected to be completed in May of this year.
