WHEATON — The DuPage Community Foundation has hired a new director of development and program assistant.
Michael R. Sitrick will serve as the foundation's director of development, while Elizabeth A. DiNovis is the newly hired program assistant.
As director of development, Sitrick will work directly with the foundation's president, development committee and board of trustees to plan and implement fund development and marketing strategies. He started in his new position Monday.
Sitrick's educational background includes a bachelor's degree from Millikin University in Decatur and a law degree Loyola University Chicago School of Law. His work experience includes serving as an associate attorney with the law firm of Best, Vanderlaan & Harrington in Naperville. Sitrick also previously worked for the foundation from 2003 to 2010 in a variety of positions within the development department.
As program assistant, DiNovis will provide support to the president and director of programs and assist with the administration of the foundation's various grant and other program-related activities. Her first day at the foundation was March 12.
DiNovis received a bachelor's degree from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania. Following graduation, she lived overseas for three years teaching English in Cuenca, Ecuador. DiNovis also has experience in early childhood education and student loan management.
The DuPage Community Foundation is dedicated to fostering philanthropy, connecting donors to area needs and building community partnerships. The foundation makes grants to nonprofit organizations working in the areas of arts and culture, education, environment, health, and human services. Since it was founded, the DuPage Community Foundation has awarded more than $15 million in grants to nonprofit agencies that serve the residents of DuPage County and beyond.
