WESTMONT — A Westmont man who served a nine-month tour of duty in Afghanistan with the U.S. Army is returning home Friday to a hero's welcome.

Members of the Westmont police and fire departments, as well as local veteran's motorcycle groups, will be escorting Adam Tomanovich, 19, with a parade to his home in Westmont on Friday afternoon.

The parade route will begin sometime in the early afternoon at the intersection of 35th Street and Cass Avenue, and will run south down Cass Avenue to the Tomanovich home along the 5800 block of Raintree Drive. A short ceremony will also be held at the home once Tomanovich arrives.

His father, Alex Tomanovich, said the exact times of the parade escort are still unknown, as a lot depends on if his flight into O'Hare arrives on time on Friday. The flight is scheduled to arrive at 10:30 a.m., and Alex Tomanovich said the parade is expected to begin sometime in the early afternoon.
