Local business owner to give talk on history of shoemaking

DOWNERS GROVE — Gene Lyzun, owner of Lyzun Shoe Repair, will lecture on the history of shoemaking and shoe repair from 7 to 8:15 p.m. April 10 at the Downers Grove Public Library.

His talk will give particular mention to the Chicago scene from the 1950s through the '80s, according to the library.

He will display images, finished products and supplies to help paint the picture of the craft.
