The Math Spot in Berwyn to move to larger facility, expand offerings

Published: Wednesday, April 3, 2013 5:00 a.m. CDT

BERWYN — The Math Spot has outgrown its former space on Oak Park Avenue and is scheduled to move to bigger digs April 8, its owner reports.

The new home of The Math Spot will be in a larger space at 6834 Windsor Ave., between Rissi’s Old Time Candy store and Over The Rainbow Ice-cream Shoppe. That's not a bad location if you need a sweet treat after a tough study session.

The move coincides with the growth of other Depot District businesses.

Ayten Santillan, owner and mathematics teacher, said The Math Spot will now provide customized instruction and more classes and small group sessions. Part-time staff have been added who specialize in other disciplines besides math to ensure the best education for students, Santillan added. The new space will accommodate students who come in for help in all subjects. Although math is still its primary focus, The Math Spot will offer writing help as well. It will also be equipped to help students with IEPs.

Santillan also offers courses for GED math and college placement prep and is currently designing a course on workforce development.

Information about available classes and the move is available by calling (708) 484-6284, or online at www.TheMathSpot.com.
