BOLINGBROOK — A La Quinta Inn & Suites front desk employee was robbed at gunpoint about 9:45 p.m. March 22, according to the Bolingbrook Police Department.

A female employee was working at the front desk of the Bolingbrook La Quinta, 22 W. Frontage Road, when a man wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and black scarf covering his face entered the premises, police said.

The suspect displayed a black handgun, threw a small black bag at the victim and demanded money, according to Bolingbrook Police Lt. Mike Rompa. The victim placed approximately $300 into the bag, Rompa said.

The suspect then fled the scene with the bag of money, according to police.

The suspect is described as a 5-foot-7 male, average build and between the ages of 20 and 30 and "possibly Hispanic," police said; he was last seen wearing a red sweatshirt and black scarf.

The incident remains under investigation by the Bolingbrook Police Department
