College of DuPage officials, Illinois Department of Employment Security workers and Village of Lombard leaders celebrate the ribbon-cutting of the College of DuPage Career and Training Center, 837 S. Westmore Ave. on March 19.

LOMBARD — The College of DuPage and the Illinois Department of Employment Security office in Lombard have partnered to offer services at the newly opened College of DuPage Career and Training Center, which can be used for unemployed and under-employed people to find jobs and advance their careers.

The center is located at 837 S. Westmore Ave. and officially opened during a ribbon-cutting ceremony March 19.

Representatives from the college will be at the center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday. People can meet with these representatives to learn about training and educational classes the college offers. They also can access job postings and work with a DuPage Career Center counselor.

The center will host informational forums twice a month with information about college admissions, financial aid and training programs.

"The Illinois Department of Employment security gives people hope and an opportunity to find employment, and the new Career and Training Center will make it easier for people who are seeking employment to find their way back to education," said Robert L. Breuder, president of the College of DuPage.
