Wheaton AT&T employees earn recognition for volunteer service

WHEATON — Two Wheaton residents and AT&T employees are being awarded the President’s Volunteer Service Award for their volunteer work in 2012 in their local community.

Valerie Bruggeman and Brett Blackwell of Wheaton are two of more than 200 AT&T employees in Illinois who were named recipients of the award.

Each of the recognized employees volunteered 100 hours or more to improve their communities, totaling more than 21,800 hours of service. Some employees also will receive the Gold Award for volunteering for more than 500 hours in 2012.

The President's Volunteer Service Award is issued by the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation, a group created by President George W. Bush in 2003. For more on the President’s Volunteer Service Award, visit www.presidentialserviceawards.gov.
