COD full-time faculty salaries rank highest of Ill. community colleges
GLEN ELLYN — Salaries for full-time faculty at the College of DuPage are second only to those at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign when compared with all two- and four-year colleges and universities in Illinois, according to a study from the National Education Association.
The NEA’s annual study on faculty salaries in higher education included 1,640 institutions nationwide with salaries based on full-time nine- or 10-month contracts. Only 37 of those institutions reported higher average faculty salaries than the College of DuPage.
According to the study, COD’s full-time average faculty salary in 2011-12 ($99,400) was higher than that of all other Illinois community colleges. Among all two- and four-year colleges and universities in the state, only the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign ranked higher with an average salary of $100,700.
