DuPage County bloodhound 'Praise' nabs alleged Lombard burglar from Glen Ellyn
LOMBARD — A Glen Ellyn man has been arrested on a felony burglary charge after DuPage County's bloodhound, "Praise," sniffed him out.
Trevor Llamas, 20, of the 20 block of Surrey Drive, has been charged with burglary to a motor vehicle, obstruction of justice and illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor after he allegedly burglarized vehicles in unincorporated Lombard Friday morning, officials with the DuPage County Sheriff's Office said.
About 6:40 a.m., the Sheriff's Office received a report of a suspicious, possibly intoxicated man looking into car windows near Roosevelt Road and Lawler Avenue. When deputies arrived in the area, Llamas allegedly fled on foot, police said.
A K-9 handler with the office's newest bloodhound, Praise, began tracking Llamas, who police said was hiding underneath a fallen wooden gate.
Information on any items that may have been stolen from the vehicles was unavailable.
Llamas was taken into custody and his bond was set at $100,000 in bond court Saturday morning.
