WOODRIDGE — The Woodridge Memorial VFW Post has established a scholarship with the intention of assisting one or more high school students in their pursuit of continuing education.

Applications for the scholarship must be returned by Tuesday, officials said.

The scholarship is named after former Post Commander Jim Stewart, an Iraqi war veteran, who was very active with many of the VFW causes.

Applicant must demonstrate the spirit of what Stewart believed in - namely his patriotic and community based principles. Winners announced on April 15.

Visit the VFW Post's website here for more information, including a copy of the application, or contact Bob Kolling at (630) 910-1578 with any questions.
