Prep roundup: Glenbard East boys volleyball takes third at Bison Battle

Area softball teams finally got first games in the books

SOFTBALL

The weather broke for a day to allow the Blazers to finally get a game in. AT fell 9-2 on Glenbard West's turf on Friday. The Blazers led 2-0 after three innings, but the Hilltoppers scored in each of the next three frames to turn the game around.

Willowbrook
The Warriors beat Glenbard West 13-2 in Glen Ellyn on Tuesday in the season opener. Sophomores Sam Schmidt and Alyssa Ressinger stole the offensive show. Schmidt was 4-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs. Ressinger was 4-for-5 with four RBIs.

Montini
Morganne Evans and Lauren Trojnar each had three hits and stole two bases in the Broncos' 12-2 win over Northside Prep on Tuesday. The next day Lake Park thumped the Broncos 11-2.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL
Glenbard East

The Rams took third at Buffalo Grove's Bison Battle with a number of top teams in attendance. East lost to eventual champion Sandburg 25-23, 25-17 but knocked off the hosts 20-25, 25-11, 25-14 to claim third place.

Addison Trail
The Blazers picked up a 25-17, 27-25 win at St. Patrick on March 21 for their first win of the season. They will return to action after spring break with a home contest Monday against Fenton.

GIRLS INDOOR TRACK
Glenbard East

Lindsay Graham was fifth in the 3,200-meter run at the Class 3A Illinois Top Times Championships on Saturday in Bloomington. She ran a time of 10:56.65.

BADMINTON
Glenbard East

The Rams were second as hosts of the eight-team Ram Invitational on Saturday. East scored multiple points on all 10 levels and picked up a title at No. 2 doubles. The Rams finished with 29 points, 10 behind York.

On Monday, East tied with Willowbrook for first place in a quad meet also involving Oak Forest and Bolingbrook.

AT was eighth out of eight teams at Glenbard East's Ram Invitational. Izy Kantor was fourth at No. 2 singles.

Willowbrook
The Warriors tied Glenbard East for first place at a quad meet on Monday. The host Warriors and rival Rams scored 18 points each. Oak Forest (11 points) and Bolingbrook (1) trailed behind.

BOYS GYMNASTICS
Glenbard East

The Rams were 17th out of 21 teams at Rolling Meadows' Vic Avigliano Mustang Invitational. Melik Prum and Joey Brauer placed highest on events for East. Prum was 12th on floor with a 7.8, and Brauer was 12th on high bar with a 5.2.

R.J. Infusino's 13th-place showing on the still rings was a team best at Rolling Meadows' Vic Avigliano Mustang Invitational. He scored a 6.7 on the event. AT was 19th out of 21 teams.

Willowbrook
The Warriors scored 120.45 points to place eighth out of 12 at the Lake Park Invitational on Friday.
