Why should residents vote for you? I am the only candidate who has the knowledge and track record to lower property taxes. The only way to control spending and prevent tax increases is to elect a mayor that has experience and knowledge of the village’s $40 million budget and a track record of fighting tax increases. I have a detailed knowledge of the budget from my two years as village trustee.

What are the biggest issues facing Woodridge? Higher taxes and higher spending. Woodridge keeps spending more money every year and raising property taxes. Property taxes are too high already. While it is true that some costs keep going up, the answer is not to simply keep raising taxes. Village government needs to do a top-to-bottom budget review to find ways to be more efficient. This includes looking for ways to partner with other governmental entities to save money.

If elected, how will you distinguish yourself as the new face of Woodridge? As a village trustee, I have been an independent voice for the residents in Woodridge, and have consistently voted in the taxpayer interest. I have voted against Mayor Murphy on raising taxes and on other issues ... A mayor distinguishes him/herself by their priorities. My priorities are clear. There will be no tax increases and the village will have to live within its means.
