Why should residents vote for you? I have been a resident since 1983, and in all the years I have lived in Woodridge, we have only had one mayor. I have ran as a candidate in the past as a big advocate of term limits for elected officials, and I am the only candidate who has ever run against William Murphy in his 32 years as mayor. I will work to keep property taxes from escalating and will do everything I can to reduce the budget, without cutting necessary services.
What are the biggest issues facing Woodridge? The police department building that the village says need to be expanded. The budget cost has been estimated at $16 million. We need to find out where the money is coming from to pay for it. I also question the need for the planned athletic center in the Woodridge Tax Increment Finance District as part of an agreement with the Woodridge Park District.
If elected, how will you distinguish yourself as the new face of Woodridge? As I said before, I support term limits and believe no one should serve more than two terms. I will be my own person, and residents will be able to get in touch with me. One of the issues I had with Mayor Murphy was he spent too much time and emphasis on the business establishments in the community, and not enough time addressing the concerns of residents. I will make sure I am there for the residents.
