Stickey police seeking scam artist

STICKNEY — Stickney police are urging residents to be cautious over reports of a scam artist operating the area on March 22.

Police responded to a report of a male subject claiming to be working for the Village cutting trees, installing speed bumps in the alley and conducting the village’s water heater inspection.  

The male subject was described as "Italian or Hispanic looking."  By ruse entry, he made his way into the house and allegedly stole cash and other items.  No specific description could be given of the offender.

Police reminded resident to never let anyone inside their house without verifying their identity.  Residents can call police using 911 if they are concerned.
