ELMHURST — Do you remember the Chicago, Aurora and Elgin "Third Rail" line that operated through Chicago's western suburbs? Today, the Illinois Prairie Path is located on 62 miles of right-of-way that used to be the old CA&E route.
As part of its 50th anniversary celebration, the Illinois Prairie Path not-for-profit corporation has arranged a presentation about the history of the CA&E railroad at 7 p.m. April 22 at Wilder Mansion, 211 Prospect Ave., Elmhurst.
Co-author and historian Fred Stark of Washington, Iowa, will be the main presenter.
