Darien releases preliminary budget May 1

DARIEN — The City of Darien has developed a preliminary budget for the fiscal year beginning May 1 and ending April 30, 2014, which is currently under review by the mayor and the city council.

Illinois Compiled Statutes (65 ILCS 5/8-2-9.9) provides that prior to final approval of the budget, the city hold a public hearing for the purpose of receiving public comment on the proposed budget.

The public hearing on the budget will be held before the corporate authorities of the City of Darien at 7 p.m. April 1 in the council chambers of the Darien City Hall.

The tentative budget is on file at City Hall and is available for public inspection.
