La Grange home 'uninhabitable' after weekend fire

LA GRANGE — A La Grange home was uninhabitable after a fire Saturday that remains under investigation, according to a news release from the La Grange Fire Department.

The fire in the 500 block of South Waiola Avenue occurred at 6:18 p.m. When fire crews arrived, the occupants of the single-family home had already exvacuated safely.

Firefighters brought the fire under control in about 30 minutes, according to officials. One firefighter sustained a minor shoulder injury. He was assessed and released on the scene.
