Former Lukancic principal to be superintendent in Mokena

Former Lukancic Middle School Principal Omar Castillo has been named superintendent of Mokena School District 159 effective for the 2013-14 school year.

Currently Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning in Addison School District 4, Castillo served as assistant principal of A. Vito Martinez Middle School in Romeoville for two years and Martinez interim principal for a year before becoming Lukancic principal in 2006-07.

He left Lukancic for the Addison position three years ago.

A former Plainfield resident, he and his wife, Maria, have lived in Bolingbrook for seven years. They have two children in the Valley View school system.
