VILLA PARK — Students from Willowbrook and Addison Trail high schools came together last weekend to participate in the third-annual District 88 Relay for Life event.

For several weeks, teams of students have been hosting their own fundraisers and participating in ones organized by the schools.

Last weekend's event began Saturday night and continued until early Sunday morning, with more than $50,000 raised. This money will be used to benefit cancer research and support programs organized by the American Cancer Society.
