WESTMONT — The Community Unit School District 201 Board of Education approved a tuition-based all-day kindergarten program at both Manning and Miller schools in Westmont for the 2013-14 school year.

The board approved the program at its March 19 school board meeting. The district previously had only operated a half-day kindergarten program.

Tuition will be $2,000 per year for the full-day program. Families that do not wish to participate in full-day kindergarten will have the option of a half-day program at no cost. There will be payment plans available for the full-day tuition so that families may pay the total amount over the school year, officials said.

Kindergarten registration starts Monday, April 15 and continues through Friday, April 19. Families will be asked to select the full-day or half-day option at the time of registration.
