Scoring not a problem in Dukes' strong start

York scores five goals in season's first two games

ELMHURST — After needing to replace almost all of last year's goal scoring, the York girls soccer team hasn't had any trouble scoring in its first two matches.

The Dukes opened with a 2-2 draw at Benet on March 14 and followed up with a 3-0 win against Downers Grove North two days later.

York fell behind in the opening minutes against the Redwings before Jamie Kovatchis leveled the match with a goal from outside the box. The Dukes trailed 2-1 at halftime and for much of the second half until Bryce Banuelos scored with less than 10 minutes left in the match.
