WESTMONT — Authorities in Westmont are still investigating the cause of a car accident last week that killed a Darien couple after the vehicle they were in left the roadway and struck a tree.

The two victims in the fatal car accident early March 21 have been identified as Richard Klima, 60, and Arlene Klima, 71.

A spokesperson for the the DuPage County Coroner's Office said Tuesday the accident is still under investigation, and the office is waiting for autopsy and toxicology results.

Westmont police said the Klimas were killed after a Jeep Grand Cherokee they were traveling in heading eastbound in the 500 block of West 59th Street left the roadway, struck a tree, rolled over and caught fire about 3:20 a.m. March 21.

The vehicle was engulfed in flames when officers arrived and the fire was extinguished by the Westmont Fire Department. The Klimas died at the scene, police said.
