ELMHURST — Fitz's Spare Keys, 119 N. York St., is hosting a musical instrument swap meet where residents can bring their old guitars, microphones or other instruments from noon to 6 p.m. April 6.

At the meet, affordable guitars, amplifiers and accessories for the starting or professional musician will be offered for sale or trade.

Price guides and appraisals will be available, along with an open mic and live entertainment by the Daytrippers, a tribute to the Beatles. Food and drinks will be available throughout the event. Free parking is available just steps from the event at the public parking garage located at Schiller Avenue and Robert Palmer Drive.

For admittance, bring a donation of a non-perishable food, sealed personal hygiene items or a cash donation to benefit the Elmhurst Yorkfield Food Pantry. There also will be a raffle for donated musical items including an entire starter guitar package with amplifier.

The Elmhurst Yorkfield Food Pantry, 1083 S. York St., helps feed hungry people in Elmhurst and the surrounding communities. Funded completely by donations and staffed by volunteers, the pantry distributes food to clients three days a week, 52 weeks a year.

Families can shop for food from the pantry as often as once per month.
