WESTMONT — Even though spring has come in with near freezing temperatures, ice skating season in Westmont is coming to an end.

The Westmont Park District announced that both the family ice rink and the hockey rink at Veterans Memorial Park are now closed for the season, and crews will begin preparing the fields for baseball season.

The rinks were open during the winter when ice conditions were safe, and the Park District had a daily update on its website on their status, but the site now indicates they are closed for the season.
