VILLA PARK — In an effort to help local seniors, Girl Scout Brownie Troop No. 50869 from Villa Park wrote and colored cards for seniors living in the area.

On March 12, the troop members brought their cards to the York Township Hall, where they will be delivered by volunteers from the DuPage Senior Citizens Council/York Township Meals on Wheels Program.

The Brownies are second-graders at Ardmore School and were working on their "Create a Smile Project." The troop prepared 31 drawings for seniors and has plans to make more.

"I want to thank Brownie Troop 50869 and their leaders for making our senior citizens the focus of their 'Create a Smile Project,'" said John W. Valle, York Township supervisor. "I think the drawings are very artistic and are sure to cheer up our seniors and put smiles on their faces."
