Letter: St. Mary parishioner questions land acquisition

Published: Wednesday, March 20, 2013 3:39 p.m. CDT

Dear Editor,

(RE: Enclosed advertisement from March 6 Downers Grove Reporter of St. Mary of Gostyn's newly acquired land.)

You apparently have a connection to St. Mary of Gostyn's expansion not privy to parishioners. My wife and I have been parishioners since 1961. To our knowledge, no information has been extended to the parishioners regarding any property acquisition. We have heard rumors. Obviously, transparency is not extant in Gostyn.

All the parishioners in the dark would appreciate your spreading the word of this property purchase.

Nothing has been printed in the parish weekly bulletin or told from the pulpit or, to our knowledge, any other way. No doubt this cost, if any, will be paid by the parishioners. If a gift, no word of this has been disseminated.

We parishioners eagerly await your enlightening blurb so we can also celebrate.

Mr. and Mrs. Thomas J. Gryl, Downers Grove
