Glen Ellyn commission delays Lenox Road, Linden Street sidewalk recommendations

GLEN ELLYN — The Glen Ellyn Capital Improvements Commission met March 12 to continue discussions regarding installing sidewalk along the east side of Lenox Road and south side of Linden Street near Lake Ellyn Park.

At its last meeting Feb. 12, the commission decided some recommendations for the Lenox Road project but deferred most of its sidewalk recommendations until members could discuss the issue more at this month's meeting. However, the commission recommended that sidewalk not be installed on the east side of Lenox Road between Essex Road and Oak Street.

After about a two-hour discussion regarding sidewalk options, the commission ultimately asked staff members to modify their sidewalk drawings to place proposed sidewalks as close to the street curbs as possible, said Bob Minix, the village's professional engineer.
