Bolingbrook's DuPage Township hosts gun identification seminar
BOLINGBROOK — In the wake of the escalating gun violence in Chicago, DuPage Township will host a seminar Wednesday to help residents determine a real firearm from a BB gun, pellet gun, water gun or painted, fake gun.
Beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Levy Center, DuPage Township and the H.E.A.R.T (Helping, Enriching, Advising, Reaching, Teaching) Organization will present "Who Lives and Who Dies? Can you identify a real gun from a fake gun?"
This is the first DuPage Township seminar on this topic, and organizers will address issues such as the danger of pellet and BB guns and identifying fake from real weapons.
Parents, teachers, children and community leaders are invited to attend. The event is sponsored by Michael's Pizza and food and refreshments will be served.
To register for the seminar, call Anthony Morelli at 630-759-1317.
H.E.A.R.T is a local organization that assists 13 to 18-year-old Will County residents who are in need of court ordered community service compliance. They also offer an alternative to suspension program for high school students in the Valley View school district.
