A Berwyn man was shot this morning in the 3600 block of Clarence Avenue.

BERWYN — A 30-year-old Berwyn man is hospitalized after two men kicked in a door to apartment and one of the men shot him in the face about 10 a.m. Monday.

Witnesses told police they heard screaming before a shot was fired in an apartment at 3610 Clarence Ave. The two men then fled on foot from the apartment.

The men were described as Hispanic, one wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black sweat pants while the other man was said to be wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and having a goatee.

The victim was transported to an area hospital. His condition is unknown at this time, city administrator Brian Pabst said.

Pershing School was locked down for a short period of time while police canvassed the area. The lock down had been lifted, according to Pabst.

School officials said the lockdown lasted about an hour.
