Westmont business briefly closed for selling tobocco without a license

WESTMONT — A Westmont man was cited by police after he allegedly sold tobacco products at his business without a village license, causing police to close the store until proper licensing was obtained.

Atif Mohammed, 26, of 22 West Fountainhead Drive, Westmont, was cited with selling tobacco products without a valid tobacco or business license at about 4 p.m. Tuesday at Spree Mart, 6008 S. Cass Ave, according to Westmont police.

Police Sgt. Steve Thompson said Spree Mart was closed briefly after being cited because they were unlicensed, but that they obtained the required licensing the following day, and the business was permitted to reopen.
