Police reveal identity of man who was struck by Hinsdale train

HINSDALE — The pedestrian who was fatally struck by an inbound commuter train at the West Hinsdale train station Monday has been identified as 42-year-old Dale Bowling of Clarendon Hills.

The accident occurred about 3 p.m.

Bowling was observed running toward the direction of the train by witnesses at an area away from the grade crossing, and preliminary investigation indicates the incident was not accidental in nature, police said. No other people or vehicles were involved in the incident.
