Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra presents third chamber series concert
ELMHURST — The Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra Chamber Series at Mayslake presents its third concert of the season, “Baroque Glories,” at 2:30 p.m. April 13 at Mayslake Peabody Estate, 1717 31st St., Oak Brook.
This concert offers an opportunity to hear Dutch soprano Josefien Stoppelenburg in Handel’s "Gloria."
Re-discovered in the year 2000, this showpiece includes some of the composer’s most virtuosic coloratura passages.
The afternoon of Baroque music also features Rika Seko, violin; Katherine Carter, violin; Stephen Alltop, harpsichord; and musicians of the Elmhurst Symphony, and includes Handel's German arias and favorites such as Haydn's "Concerto for Violin and Harpsichord."
Tickets are $25 for adults, $23 for seniors, $7 for students and $20 each for groups of 10 or more.
