Dietitian and author to teach Elmhurst seniors healthy eating habits

ELMHURST — Elmhurst resident David Grotto, a registered dietitian and author of the new book “The Best Things You Can Eat,” has found that you truly can have your cake and eat it too – just not the whole thing.

The Elmhurst Park District invites seniors to join him from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. April 19 at The Abbey, 407 W. St. Charles Road, to learn strategies on how to save calories and reduce saturated fat and sodium through healthier swap-outs.

Grotto will also demonstrate how to "right-size" foods that simply can’t be made healthier without sacrificing taste and enjoyment. This event, sponsored by Park Place of Elmhurst, includes a free autographed book for the first 25 registrants and a light lunch for all participants. The registration deadline is April 12.
