Warrenville police search for man who brandished knife in public

WARRENVILLE — Police are searching for a man who brandished a knife in public on Friday night.

About  9:25 p.m., the Warrenville Police Department received a report of a person armed with a knife in front of 2S501 Route 59. A woman allegedly was approached near her vehicle by a white man, about 5-foot-7-inches tall with short gray hair holding a knife, police said.

The woman fled from the man and police were called. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the man.

Anyone with information relating to this case, including the identity of the alleged offender, is asked to call Det. Sgt. Jeff Jacobson of the Warrenville Police Department at 630-393-2131.
