Streamwood police search for man who fatally stabbed gas station clerk

STREAMWOOD — Police in Streamwood are searching for a man who fatally stabbed a 24-year-old gas station clerk early Saturday morning.

About 4:36 a.m. Saturday, Streamwood police and fire department personnel were sent to the Thorntons gas station at 2 N. Barrington Road for a victim bleeding from his chest, according to a news release.

Streamwood resident Anandkumar Jaiswal, 24, had been stabbed several times in his chest and was bleeding profusely. Paramedics took the gas station attendant to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates, where he was pronounced dead at 5:28 a.m. Saturday.
