Letter: Giagnorio would maintain family values

To the Editor:

Fellow Lombardians, our local election is drawing near and while all elections are important, this one carries a special significance. For the first time in 20 years, we will elect a village president other than Bill Mueller. It is critical that we put the right person in office to lead us as we move forward.

It is my opinion, like that of so many others, the correct person is Keith Giagnorio. Keith wants our community to continue to grow and prosper while maintaining the suburban family atmosphere, which is the reason so many people wish to call Lombard home.

He supports continued development of our downtown area; the protection of open space (and specifically the Ken Loch location); maintaining our current paramedic service as a village function and not outsourcing it with the potential for loss of quality care; and allowing village staff the space to do their jobs while at the same time using adequate oversight to assure that residents are getting the service they deserve.

Keith has lived and raised his family in this community for more than 28 years and operated his local business on Main Street for 18 of those years. He has served us with a local passion as a Park District commissioner and president. He currently serves as District 2 trustee.

We need proven local leadership as we move into the next phase of village government. Who better to do this than a long-time resident, local business owner, quality local elected official, involved resident and citizen and a good friend. I hope you will join with me in electing Keith Giagnorio our next village president!
