To the Editor:
As the April 9 election approaches, voters in Lombard District 1 face two important choices for local government. As a candidate for District 1 trustee, Dan Whittington has volunteered countless hours in the service of our downtown area, working with other Lombard residents to improve this vital part of our community.
His efforts as both a member and president of the Lombard Town Centre organization clearly demonstrates his commitment to making Lombard and District 1 a better place to live and work. The increase in the number of viable, exciting new businesses, and the positive progress being made, is clear to see.
As a business professional, and as a civic-minded volunteer in many local organizations, Dan has the background, experience and personal commitment that will enable him to be an effective representative for us on the Village Board. Dan is someone who will stay in his seat and work with the other board members when the tough decisions have to be made.
As a candidate for Lombard village president, John Novak brings a solid record of achievement in public service and an intricate understanding of higher level finance. In this era of economic uncertainty, the people of Lombard need a village president who understands that managing village finances and keeping budgets under tight control is critically important to providing Lombard residents with the services and support we expect and deserve.
As a former District 1 trustee, I urge you to support John Novak and Dan Whittington in their efforts to keep the Village of Lombard moving forward in a positive direction.
