Addison Police Department plans crackdown on drunken driving for St. Patrick's Day weekend

ADDISON — The Addison Police Department announced it will conduct special patrols this St. Patrick’s Day holiday to crack down on drunken drivers.

Unbuckled drivers and passengers also will be ticketed.

Police said always designating a sober driver and not letting friends drive drunk are two simple steps to help avoid a tragic crash or an arrest for drunken driving.

Police reminded residents that party hosts can be held liable and prosecuted if someone they serve is involved in a drunken driving crash.
