'Honk!' Arrives at Hadley Junior High School this weekend

GLEN ELLYN — More than 100 Hadley Junior High School students are about to open the curtains on "Honk!," a musical adaptation of the Hans Christian Andersen story "The Ugly Duckling." The play is a story about tolerance and appeals to all ages.

The sixth- to eighth-grade performers have been at work on the play since December. An army of volunteers including set designers, production teams and backstage hands helped in the effort. The play features musical numbers and a poignant story, all backed by a profession-grade sound, lighting and staging system

“The production has come together beautifully,” said Kim Sirvatka, co-musical director of the production and professional vocal coach. “The kids have worked so hard and have put together a dazzling show. Best of all, it’s a timeless tale that will entertain and delight kids of all ages and their parents as well."
