GENEVA - Once Swedish Days banners go up in May, poles around Geneva are adorned with banners through Christmas. Consequently, January – April these poles are bare.
About a year ago, Jean Gaines, Geneva Chamber of Commerce President had the idea of adding some color to Geneva during “the dull days of winter” – enhancing the empty poles with vibrant banners and clever sayings reflecting all that Geneva has to offer.
Her vision came to fruition with the financial assistance of Geneva Chamber’s Chairman of the Board and owner of Lebin Financial Planning, Scott Lebin. Over the years, Scott has contributed time and resources and this is just his latest random act of kindness. One that all of Geneva and visitors to our community can admire and appreciate.
“Geneva has many types of shops and restaurants and these banners reflect that and catch your attention with brilliant colors and exciting phrases,” said Gaines.
Shades of yellow, purple, blue and green are now gracing the poles around town and welcoming visitors to colorful Geneva.
