What to watch: Returning a solid core of players, Glenbard North hopes to improve its standing in the DuPage Valley Conference this spring.

Back in the mix are seniors Aaron Santiago, Tyler Wiser, Pasquale Fiduccia, Matthew Nguyen and Chris Adamatis.

A new group of juniors, including Steven Chartrand, Ryan Schwichtenberg, Suman Patel, Ryan Keener, Frankie Petock, Mike Vergrzyn and Jobin Alexander, also should contribute.

"The returning players are showing leadership," said Glenbard North coach Dedra Debenedetti, "and the desire to work hard together to be successful.

"We are not a real tall team but we should be tough defensively."

The DVC will again be loaded, led by defending state champion Wheaton Warrenville South. Glenbard East, Naperville Central and Naperville North should all be formidable opponents as well. Glenbard North finished seventh in the conference a year ago.

"The DVC is always tough," the coach said. "We did not finish well in the second round last year and we hope to improve upon that this year."
