This past weekend three wrestlers from Woodridge School District 68’s Jefferson Junior High traveled to the Illinois Elementary School Association (IESA) state tournament at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb.
It was a memorable trip as 8th grader Zach Muller captured the 215-pound title. He went 26-0 on the year and won every match with a pin as he became the first state champ from Jefferson since 1995.
Jacob Liaromatis and Sky Arend were also state qualifiers from Jefferson and competed at the state finals.
