LISLE — To better prepare the public in the event of a massive terrorist attack, Benedictine University has partnered with the DuPage County Health Department’s Office of Risk and Emergency Management to hold a free public health emergency preparedness training session this Saturday.

The event, planned from 9 to 11 a.m. on the second floor of the Krasa Student Center at Benedictine University, will provide volunteers from the community with an overview of public health procedures and training exercises for dispensing vaccinations and performing other medical countermeasures in the aftermath of a bioterrorism attack. 

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, bioterrorism may include the release of viruses, bacteria or other germs used to cause illness or death in people, animals or plants.
