Addison native competes at World Figure Skating Championships

Alexa Scimeca and pairs partner Chris Knierim sit in 12th after short program

Addison native Alexa Scimeca and her partner Chris Knierim are in 12th place after the pairs short program at the 2013 World Figure Skating Championships in London, Ontario.

They scored 55.73 points in Wednesday's short program. They are more than 20 points behind the leaders, Tatiana Volosozhar and Maxim Trankov from Russia.

Scimeca and Knierim are the top American pair at worlds, one place ahead of the other American pair of Marissa Castelli and Simon Shnapir.
