WARRENVILLE — The documentary "Girl Rising," which tells the stories of girls around the world who are struggling to receive an education, will be shown at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Regal Cantera Stadium, 28250 Diehl Road in Warrenville.

The event will be hosted by Farrah Qazi of North Aurora, a human and civil rights lawyer who belongs to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community based in Glen Ellyn, and Ayisha Sami of Algonquin, a mother of two who belongs to the American Muslim Community in Algonquin.

Qazi said she received the documentary from 10x10, a global campaign focused on girls' education.

"They were looking for people to promote and host screenings of the movie," Qazi said in an email. "I am constantly striving to work for girls' education, so I jumped at the chance."

Those interested in attending can purchase a ticket for $10 at http://bit.ly/10Tldil.
