Lombard Historical Society to host program on fire department
LOMBARD — The Lombard Historical Society will host its monthly Second Sunday History Talk program on Sunday with a presentation by Sarah Richardt on the history of the village's fire department.
For the past several months, Richardt, the senior program coordinator for the historical society, has been researching the history of the Lombard Fire Department in collaboration with its 100th anniversary.
The program will begin at 2 p.m. at the Carriage House, 23 W. Maple St., behind the Victorian Cottage Museum. For the fire department's centennial, the Carrage House is home to a display of fire history that includes photos, memorabilia, uniforms, video and more.
