Downers Grove police: Snow causes several accidents during rush hour
DOWNERS GROVE — The overnight snowstorm caused eight accidents on Downers Grove roads Tuesday evening, but all were minor and no injuries were reported, according to police.
Most of the accidents occurred between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m., during the heaviest period of snowfall. Three of the eight accidents consisted of vehicles striking a tree, said Sgt. Harry Andler, Downers Grove police spokesman.
During the snowstorm, police also responded to 11 reports of vehicles that were disabled due to the elements, Andler said.
